Patrick joined Essex in 2009 as Vice President and was promoted to Director in 2011. He became a partner in 2013 and now has the privilege of leading the firm as its sole owner. In his role, Patrick sets Essex’s strategic direction and fosters a team culture that ensures every client receives exceptional service.
Prior to Essex, Patrick spent four years at CapMark, where he served as Assistant Vice President overseeing a team of ten Portfolio Managers responsible for $12.6 billion in commercial mortgages. This experience shaped his leadership style and deepened his commitment to serving a diverse range of institutional clients. He began his career in 2002 at First Arizona Savings in the construction loan servicing department—an experience that proved instrumental when he launched Essex’s successful construction loan servicing and draw review platform in 2015.
Patrick earned his BS in Business Management and Finance from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY, where he was a student-athlete on the tennis team. He was elected co-chair of the Captain’s Council, representing Marist nationally and advocating for student-athletes across disciplines. Patrick also holds the prestigious CCMS designation, which is the Mortgage Bankers Association’s (“MBA”) highest distinction for commercial mortgage servicing executives. He remains active in the Mortgage Bankers Association, contributing to multiple committees and speaking on industry panels.
Born in Germany and raised in Phoenix, Patrick now lives in Golden, Colorado, with his wife, Kenzie, and their three children—Preslee, Brisbane, and Maverick—along with Albert, their beloved Bernie-doodle. He enjoys watching fútbol, learning Spanish, playing guitar, going to concerts, and traveling with his family. He stays active by going to the gym, playing in a basketball league, and joining his wife for pickleball—though tennis will always hold a special place in his heart.
